T. Rex Show with Teach Rex

Calling all dinosaur fans! Join us at our T. Rex Show with Teach Rex.

  • Flett Events Theatre
  • Various dates and times
  • Adult: £12, Child: £12, Member: £10.80

Teach Rex use life-like dinosaurs to perform their show about the anatomy and life of Tyrannosaurus rex, one the most amazing creatures to have ever roamed our planet.

The show delves into the jaws of this iconic animal, taking you on an interactive, prehistoric journey.

The show is suitable for children aged three years and over and is also popular with adults. The educational part of the show lasts for about an hour, followed by a meet and greet where you can take photos with the dinosaurs.

Watch this video to find out more about the event.

Children need to be accompanied by an adult.

Find out about the security measures we have in place.

  • The theatre is wheelchair accessible. Our staff will be on hand to assist you if necessary.
  • Unfortunately, there are no accessible toilets on this level. The closest ones are on the Lower Ground Floor in the Red Zone near our East Entrance on Exhibition Road.
  • We also have a Changing Places toilet in our Blue Zone.
  • Some children may find the dinosaurs in the show scary, as they’re large, realistic and accompanied by roaring sounds. The dinosaurs will also interact with the audience. If you’re concerned about the suitability of this event for your child, email us at after-hours@nhm.ac.uk.

If entering via our East Entrance on Exhibition Road and using the stairs, walk up the first set of stairs from the entrance. Then go left or right and head up the next set of stairs. Follow this stairway all the way up, past the toilets. At the top of the stairs, you’ll find the entrance to the Flett Events Foyer immediately on your left. Go through the foyer into the theatre.

If entering via our East Entrance on Exhibition Road and using the lift, take one of two lifts from the Lower Ground Floor up to the Ground Floor. Go through the Earth Hall, past Sophie the Stegosaurus, underneath the globe and through the doors at the end of the hall. In front of you on the right-hand side, opposite the shop, is a lift. Take this lift to the First Floor. Come out of the lift and go through either our Earth’s Treasury Gallery or From the Beginning Gallery. These galleries both bring you out onto a landing where there is a glass door into the Flett Events Foyer. Enter the foyer and then go through into the theatre.

The entrance to the Flett Events Foyer is a set of glass doors. You’ll see a Teach Rex sign and our staff will be in this area to direct and help you if required.
