Can your pupils take on the role of scientists and help us explore the oceans on their adventure into the deep?
This immersive show highlights the importance of the oceans and demonstrates why it’s never been more vital to help protect this amazing habitat.
Learning shows in our Attenborough Studio are a perfect introduction to or recap of nature based topics. Audiences will be seated in an amphitheatre style space and the show will be presented by one of our expert educators.
Shows usually include immersive use of lights, cameras, sounds and demonstrations which are suitable for the age ranges listed on the show’s pre-visit information.
Both pupils and adults will be encouraged to participate throughout.
Show outline
We welcome classes to get on-board and join our crew as we dive down on an adventure thousands of metres below the waves!
In the daylight zone, pupils and teachers will travel to a coral reef and learn about what makes reefs such an important habitat. We also help out one of the Museum’s scientists as we survey the different types of animals living here.
In the twilight zone, we come face-to-face with a giant squid and discover the vital role sharks play in the ocean’s food chains.
And finally, in the midnight zone, we discuss how this habitat is different from others, meet bioluminescent creatures and play ‘Jellyfish or Plastic Bag?'.
