The rutting stag had been bellowing for hours in the woods.
Finally emerging onto the crest of the hill as the light began to fade, the stag’s roars reverberated across the valley. Michel crept out from his hide, then slowly waded into the cold water of the river, before crouching behind a pile of leafy branches. With this natural prop, he had the tapestry of light, shade and pattern to create the atmosphere he wanted.

Michel's passion for nature began as a child growing up in the beautiful surroundings of a small village in Belgium. He started taking pictures as a teenager. His photography is guided by the emotions that the natural world evokes in him.
