Morgan Heim (USA) follows the story of those trying to save the northern spotted owl through controversial means.
For Mark Higley, making sure something positive comes from killing a barred owl is important. Working as a biologist for the Hoopa Valley Tribe, he takes measurements as well as blood and stomach samples from the dead owls. These can reveal key information not only about their health but also about the health of the forest and even that of the northern spotted owls.
